We returned from our family reunion in Pawley's Island on Sunday (That's Gay with our four grandchildren) and she had her second chemo treatment yesterday. I'm pleased to report that she fell asleep right after the chemo and left the house at 7:30 this morning to play golf of all things! Its supposed to hit a 100 today so I hope she'll be able to handle the heat OK. As the man said passing each floor after jumping off a building "so far so good"!
The family reunion was great and it was a good time for everyone to rally around Gay in person. We finally told Grand Mary and she took the news pretty hard but she's a trooper like her daughter (albeit a 92 year old one)! The kids were wonderful both with Gay and her Mother and the week just flew by. If you look closely, you'll notice a lime green family reunion theme (picked out by Grand Mary). We also had a family golf tournament (Gay was on the winning team....I wasn't) and she hit the ball well. She doesn't belong on the red tees but I won't go there now!
I'll enclose that picture of Gay with the kids (three days after the first chemo treatment) and a rather interesting lie we found at the Caledonia Golf Course. I imagine that ball is still there!
Again we sincerely thank you for all of your support. We couldn't get through this without you.

Gay and Denny, happy to hear your vacation was a huge success. We're loving the pictures.
Gay, congrats on having two down. You're a real trouper and definitely a role model for everyone who faces and helps someone else face difficult times.

Gay, we are thinking of you and you are in our prayers and also in the prayers of our parish daily and Sunday worshipers. We know you are a strong lady and will fight as hard or harder than anyone. But please kick back a little on the golf on those really hot days. God bless you and Dennis and Grand Mary and your whole family. Love,
Rich and Donna
Gay, So happy to hear that you are doing well with the Taxol. Bill just finished his Temodar tonight (5th round with one more to go next month) he is doing great as I know you will. We think of you always with love and prayers and enjoy Denny's comments now that I've mastered clicking the correct button. Talk to you soon....Pat & Bill
Gay, we have been away for a month and we are so shocked and sorry to hear about what you have been going through. Don can only say "what a lady" since he played golf with you just a few days before all of this became apparent.
We all need to look to you as an example because as someone mentioned in another wirting to you, attitude is how we exist in life in many situations, and you my friend, have the correct attitude and foritude. Please know that we are just a few steps from you back door and would love to do ANYTHING to help. Gay and family you are in our prayers and thoughts and I am adding you to our prayer list at church this morning.
May God bless you and surround you with his love.
Brenda and Don Hiscott
